Contractor Compliance
Many employers incorrectly classify employees as contractors. Contractor compliance is typically low in most businesses. This doesn’t change the laws that apply to the employer, so that means that a ‘contractor’ could be entitled to superannuation, public holidays, annual leave and termination payments. In addition, workers’ compensation insurance and payroll tax needs to be paid for some workers that are legitimately classified as contractors. We help clients ensure that they have the right advice to classify their workers correctly. We can track contractors to ensure that super is calculated and paid where necessary and also lodge Taxable Payments Annual Reports for industries, such as construction, where this is a mandatory reporting obligation.
